2. Data We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account data: name, email address, password (stored as a hash), and any profile information you choose to provide.
- Billing data: billing name, email, limited payment information (most card details are processed and stored by our payment processor, e.g. Stripe, not by us directly).
- Support data: messages you send to our support channels, including attachments and logs you choose to share.
- Configuration data: your OpenClaw instance settings, ClawdBot configuration, connected channels, prompts, etc.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Log data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, timestamps, and referrer URLs when you access our dashboard or site.
- Usage data: metrics about instance uptime, resource usage (CPU, RAM, storage), API calls, and messaging volumes for operational and billing purposes.
- Cookies & similar technologies: we may use cookies or similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, and measure product usage. You can control cookies via your browser settings, but some features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.
2.3 Third‑Party Data
If you connect third‑party services (e.g. WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, or AI providers), we may receive limited identifiers or metadata from those services as needed to operate integrations. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
3. How We Use Data
We use personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the Service, including creating and managing your account, provisioning and monitoring instances, and delivering the features you request.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions, via third‑party payment processors.
- To communicate with you about your account, billing, product updates, security notices, and support requests.
- To improve the Service, for example by analyzing aggregated usage to identify bugs, performance issues, or features that matter most to users.
- To enforce our Terms, prevent abuse, protect our rights, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal Bases (for users in the EEA/UK)
Where applicable law (e.g. GDPR) requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — to provide the Service you subscribe to.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — to secure and improve the Service, prevent abuse, and protect our rights, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — where we explicitly ask for it (for example, for certain optional cookies or marketing emails, if applicable).
- Legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)) — to retain certain records for tax, accounting, or regulatory requirements.
5. How We Share Data
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g. cloud infrastructure providers, payment processors, email service providers, logging/monitoring tools), under data protection and confidentiality obligations.
- Third‑party platforms that you choose to connect to your instance (e.g. messaging platforms, AI providers). In such cases, data is shared as necessary to operate the integration you requested.
- Authorities or parties in legal matters when required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or safety or that of others.
- Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets; in such a case we will take steps to ensure your privacy rights continue to be protected.
6. International Transfers
Our infrastructure and service providers may be located in the United States and other countries. By using the Service, you understand that your data may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions with different data protection laws than your own. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (such as contractual clauses) to protect personal data during such transfers.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to:
- Provide the Service and maintain your account;
- Comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations;
- Resolve disputes and enforce our Terms.
When data is no longer needed for these purposes, we will delete it or anonymize it in a commercially reasonable manner.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights such as:
- Accessing a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- Requesting correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Requesting deletion of your data, subject to legal retention obligations;
- Objecting to or restricting certain forms of processing;
- Porting your data to another service in a structured, commonly used format;
- Withdrawing consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@myclawio.com. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, where applicable.
9. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, isolated containers for instances, access controls, and regular updates. However, no online service can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and you share responsibility for keeping your credentials and keys safe.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice (for example in the dashboard or by email). Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes indicates your acceptance of the revised Policy.
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us at privacy@myclawio.com.
